Nominations invited for PAC scholarship to
Principals & Practices of Biosafety
The American Biological Safety Association (ABSA) is pleased to announce the 2012 scholarship initiative aimed at providing training opportunities to biosafety officers in under-resourced countries and institutions. The scholarship is provided through the generous funding by the Global Science Safety Institute (GSSI) and the CDC International Biosafety Symposium.
We would like to invite nominations for attendees who are ABSA members and ABSA Affiliate members in good standing to participate in the Principles & Practices of Biosafety course July 8-13, 2012 in St. Paul, Minnesota. The course is designed for persons who are entering the profession with up to 3 years experience in biosafety.
There are two scholarships available—one for an international attendee and one for a U.S. based attendee. The scholarships will provide funding for registration to the Principles & Practices of Biosafety course and travel expenses of up to $2,000 USD for an international attendee and up to $1,000 USD for a U.S. attendee. Travel funds will be disbursed to the awardee at the time of onsite registration, the individual is responsible for cost overruns.
